TOEFL Exercise


Exercise A :

8. Walking with the children to school. (W)
     That sentence is wrong, because there is no subject. The sentence will be right if it has a subject.
Example : Fristy was walking with the children to school.

Exercise B :

6. In the office of the building across the street from the park on the corner. (W)
    That sentence is wrong, because it’s unclear. There’s no subject and verb. The sentence just have  prepositional phrases.

TOEFL Exercise :

10. NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center _______ control center for the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space fligths.
A. it was at the                                                                       B. it was the
C. was the                                                                               D. the
      The best answer is (C), because that sentence needs verb, and the (C) is the correct one. The (A) and (B) isn’t correct because that answers don’t need the extra subject (it). The (D) isn’t correct because there is no verb to complete the sentence.
